A content area is a frame within a Template Gallery template where the rendered iParts of a content record appears. The entire content record is rendered within the borders of the content area. Most content records are displayed only within the interior Main Content Area of a template's floor plan layout. However, there is a set of special content records that are used specifically for the numbered content areas in a template.
These special content records all reside in a ContentAreas subfolder created automatically by the system when you define a new CM website based on a Template Gallery template. The name of each of these special content records match the name of the content area as shown in the PDF file that describes the floor plan layout of each Template Gallery template. To change what is displayed in a content area of the template, you must edit the definition of the corresponding special content record.
